What is Lumber/Timber?

Lumber, or timber, refers to wood that has been cut from trees and processed, either rough or finished, for various applications such as construction, carpentry, furniture, and flooring. "Milled" lumber is wood that has been processed, cut, sawed, planed, and/or surfaced at a mill. In some regions, the term "timber" also refers to live or felled trees, unprocessed logs, or large-dimension lumber.
